Today on The Rising Leader:

● Building a successful career or business takes time and work.

● The importance of sticking around and getting better at what you do.

● Why it's important to let go of old habits and embrace new challenges.

● Why it's unrealistic to expect immediate perfection or greatness in a new role or industry.

● The importance of believing in yourself and having confidence in your abilities.

● Time is a key factor in achieving expertise and becoming a top performer in your field.

● Hard work and going through challenging times are necessary to earn success.

● How to keep moving forward and build your book of business.

In today's episode, I reflect on my journey from being a sales guy to a successful coach. I share how I started with no resume and faced rejection from every company in Silicon Valley due to my lack of experience. However, I persevered and eventually landed a position at NetApp, one of the fastest-growing companies in Silicon Valley. From there, I worked for other renowned tech companies, building an impressive resume in tech sales. I draw parallels between my sales career and my coaching business, emphasizing the importance of time and hard work in building a credible reputation.

I also recount my early days as a waiter at the Four Seasons, where I initially felt terrified and out of my depth. However, with time and dedication, I became a trainer, helping new employees navigate the high-class environment. I encourage listeners to give themselves time to grow and learn, especially when transitioning to new roles or industries. By being patient, earnest, and believing in oneself, one can eventually become an expert in their field. I share my realization of the hard work I put in to reach where I am today and encourage those going through challenging times to keep pushing forward and building their success.
